Oracle EPM November 2026 Updates (26.11)
Oracle's November 2026 Cloud EPM update (version 26.11) reaches test environments on Friday, November 6 and production on Friday, November 20. It is another large release, with 53 features across the platform, and it is the most AI-heavy update of the year so far. New EPM Agent Skills, three new EPM Assistants, and GenAI-powered Insights Analysis lead the list. FCCS also gets its biggest structural change in a long time: support for up to four additional consolidation cubes.
This summary is based on Oracle's official 26.11 EPM Cloud Readiness documentation. Most of the release ships enabled by default, but 14 features are “Setup Required.” One quiet security change, the removal of account-prefixed user names, can break existing EPM Automate scripts and REST integrations the day the update lands. Start with that one.
Act Now: Account-Prefixed User Names Stop Working
Starting with 26.11, the EPM Automate login command and the user name supplied to Cloud EPM REST APIs no longer accept user names prefixed with the Cloud Account name. Any script, scheduled job, or integration that still logs in with that prefix will fail after the update reaches the environment. This applies to every business process, including Enterprise Data Management.
Why it matters: This is the kind of change that surfaces as a failed overnight data load rather than a release note. Search your automation scripts, integration credentials, and EPM Agent configurations for the prefixed format and fix them before November 6 in Test, and certainly before November 20 in Production.
EPM Agent Skills: Conversational Administration Arrives
The headline AI feature is a new family of Cloud EPM AI Skills. All of them are Setup Required, and all of them honor the permissions of the user invoking the skill:
- Core infrastructure skills. Eleven functional areas covered through validated REST operations: access control and identity reports, environment and maintenance, Essbase block analysis, Essbase data export, files, Object Storage and SFTP, identity and access management, migration and snapshots, query governor settings, security administration, concurrent usage simulation, and user activity reports. Most state-changing actions require explicit approval before they run.
- Platform Data Exploration skill. Inspects applications, cubes, dimensions, members, forms, and dashboards in Planning and FreeForm, and answers business-data questions by finding a relevant saved form and checking its point of view before responding. Writes are disabled.
- Strategic Modeling skills. Explore models, compare scenarios, analyze drivers, run a read-only Goal Seek, and prepare new inherited scenarios for approval and execution.
Supporting these skills, Oracle is releasing 141 new Cloud EPM Platform REST APIs and 33 new Strategic Modeling REST APIs. They cover applications, cubes, dimensions, Calculation Manager rules, form and dashboard definitions, data import and export, approval units, substitution variables, and more.
Why it matters: For an AMS team, the core skills map almost one-to-one onto routine support tickets: who has access, when the last backup ran, which snapshot to restore, why a cube is slow. Pilot them in a Test environment first and agree on who is allowed to approve state-changing actions.
Financial Consolidation and Close: Multiple Cubes and Two New Assistants
- Multiple Cube Support (Setup Required). FCCS now supports up to four additional consolidation cubes in new and existing Hybrid applications using the Dense or Sparse Optimization (DSO) model. Use them for historical data, constant currency analysis, management reporting, or disclosure details, keeping that volume out of the main consolidation cube. Ownership-enabled applications must enable Enhanced Organization by Period first.
- Configurable Consolidation Rules Assistant (Setup Required). Administrators describe a rule in natural language in a chatbot on the rule page. The assistant generates the configuration and creates the rule once confirmed.
- Data Retrieval Diagnosis Assistant (Setup Required). Diagnoses slow-loading forms and saved Smart View ad hoc grids through the FCCS chatbot, runs the diagnostic job, and recommends fixes. Enabling the underlying diagnosis setting may require an Essbase restart and can slow retrieval, so turn it off again when troubleshooting is finished.
- Metadata validation moves to the Recommendations page, with Rescan checking all enabled cubes and a filter by cube.
- Enhanced Redwood Home page with an announcements drawer and task counts by due date, plus a new REST API to create or update consolidation journals in Working status.
Why it matters: Multiple Cube Support changes how FCCS applications can be designed. Teams that have pushed historical or management-reporting data into the main cube for lack of an alternative now have a supported way to split it out and improve consolidation performance. Treat it as a design decision, not a toggle.
IPM Insights: From “What Happened” to “Why”
- Insights Analysis (Planning and FreeForm, requires GenAI). Key Contributor Analysis shows where a variance is concentrated. Variance Decomposition breaks it into price, volume and mix, foreign exchange, or margin drivers.
- Top insights in Dashboards 2.0. Combined with a dashboard set as the landing page, planners see relevant insights as soon as they sign in.
- IPM Insights Assistant (Setup Required). A reusable AI Agent Studio workflow to retrieve, validate, and present insights in agentic applications.
- Tax Reporting can now view insights directly from forms and dashboards, and gets a new IPM - Manage granular role.
Why it matters: Insights only add value if the Insights job runs and users can find the results. Surfacing them on dashboards and forms, and explaining the drivers behind them, removes the two biggest adoption barriers. Remember the Insights job must have run before anything appears.
Account Reconciliation: Natural Language Filtering
Users can now filter the Profiles, Reconciliations, and Transactions lists, the Reconciliation and Detail Balances tabs, and the Matching page by typing a request in plain language, with Generative AI converting it into filter conditions. A new Transaction Matching Configuration Assistant (Setup Required) creates or extends match types from an uploaded template, adding only what is missing.
Also new: a Redwood interface for holiday rules, new REST APIs for formats, reconciliations, and transactions, and an onEmptyFile option for importing pre-mapped transactions that lets empty files complete with a warning instead of failing. The Data Loads - Manage granular role is renamed Balance Loads - Manage, with existing assignments unchanged.
Why it matters: The onEmptyFile option alone will stop a category of false-alarm incidents for teams that load transactions from sources that legitimately send empty files on quiet days.
Profitability: PCM Assistant Replaces the Original Agent
Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management gets a new PCM Assistant that covers everything the PCM Interrogation and Calculation Assistants did and more: creating and validating models, managing rules and rule sets, running and inspecting jobs, and analyzing calculation performance. PCM Agent list rule commands can now feed directly into the Mass Edit tab, so you can find every rule using a member and change them all at once.
Why it matters: The original PCM Agent and PCM Agent Performance Assistant are now decommissioned. Anyone still using them needs to move to the enhanced PCM Agent. Diagnostic statistics now keep only the most recent 500 calculation runs by default, adjustable with theEPCM_PURGE_JOB_RUNS_DAYS_OLDER substitution variable.
Platform, Integration, and Smart View
- Enhanced MDX form design with a query editor, plus a new MDX data export API that returns a grid without saving a form. Especially useful for teams moving from Essbase to FreeForm.
- Calc Script tuple syntax in Calculation Manager, to limit calculation scope to specific sparse member combinations.
- OAuth 2.0 for cross-environment connections and a new Oracle Fusion Application Cloud Provider connection type (both Setup Required), plus OAuth 2.0 for NetSuite integration.
- Export shared members from ASO cubes, new REST APIs for worklists, dashboards, connections, and activity reports and access logs.
- Parallel Simulate Concurrent Usage runs, a number-of-days option for audit and login reports, and non-ASCII filenames in download APIs.
- New sample scripts to clone environments from the latest backup, useful for keeping a disaster-recovery standby current.
- Smart View 26.200 and an updated Narrative Reporting extension adding @mentions in review comments, embedding multiple content items at once, alt text for embedded content, and an option to publish report packages in PDF/UA-1 format.
- Tax Reporting adds SBIE Average Translation Automation for Pillar Two, enabled by default.
Update Policy and Upcoming Deadlines
Oracle has tightened its update cadence policy with immediate effect. An environment can now stay on a one-off patch, or on Skip Update, for a maximum of three months, with one Oracle-approved extension of three more months. In 26.09 the limit was described simply as six months; now anything past three months needs Oracle's approval, so check any environment currently held back.
Deadlines to plan for now:
- November 2026: EPM Skills for Oracle Digital Assistant reach end of support.
- December 2026 (26.12): EPM Automate clients from 26.08 or earlier stop working. Upgrade EPM Automate and re-run
encryptto create new .epw password files. In EDM, only Service Administrators and users with the Audit role can see system events. - January 2027 (27.01): JDK 17 support for EPM Automate on Linux and UNIX ends; move to JDK 21. Environments must be on 26.08 or later to keep Generative AI features.
- Future updates: IP addresses will no longer be allowed in connection URLs, Power Users will need write access to folders to create forms and dashboards, and Calculation Manager will enforce the Errors & Considerations check.
What This Means for EPM Teams
26.11 moves Oracle's AI strategy from individual assistants to a platform. Agent Skills, hundreds of new REST APIs, and assistants in FCCS, Account Reconciliation, and Profitability all point the same way. Most of it is opt-in, so nothing changes until your team decides to enable it. The exceptions are the user name change and the shorter skip-update window, which apply whether you are ready or not.
A practical checklist for this month: fix prefixed user names in scripts, upgrade EPM Automate and regenerate .epw files ahead of 26.12, review any environment on Skip Update, and pick one AI feature to pilot in Test. If you are newly joined or just starting out in an EPM support role, our Oracle EPM AMS Practitioner Workshop covers how a real AMS team reads readiness notes like these and turns them into a repeatable monthly process.
